No. 13-84]
Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146, there be and is hereby
created the position of Tax Assessor of the Township of West Amwell, Hunterdon
County, New Jersey.
The term of said Tax Assessor shall be for four years, beginning the
first day of July next following his appointment.
The salary and compensation of the Tax Assessor shall be fixed and determined
by the governing body on January 1 of each year.

The Township Tax Assessor shall hold a tax assessor's certificate
and shall have the duty of assessing property for the purpose of general taxation.
It shall also be the duty of the Tax Assessor to reassess properties for the
purpose of keeping the ratio of assessed value to true value at such a level
as to avoid the need for a revaluation. Compensation for said reassessments
is included in the salary for this position.
