The owner or owners, occupant or occupants of land abutting or bordering upon the public highways of the Township of West Amwell shall remove all grass, weeds, brush or other impediments from the part of the public highway abutting or bordering upon their respective lands within 10 days after notice to remove the same.
A. 
In case such owner or owners, occupant or occupants of land abutting or bordering upon any public highway in said Township of West Amwell shall neglect or refuse to remove any grass, weeds, brush or other impediments from the part of said public highway abutting or bordering upon their respective lands within 10 days after notice being served upon such occupant or occupants, owner or owners, then it shall be the duty of the Road Supervisor or other officer having charge of the highways of said Township to remove such grass, weeds, brush or other impediments from that part of said public highway abutting or bordering upon such lands.
B. 
The cost and expense paid and incurred by the Road Supervisor or other officer for removing such grass, weeds, brush or other impediments from such public highway shall be certified to the Township Committee of the Township of West Amwell, which shall examine the certificate and, if found correct, shall cause the cost shown thereon to be charged against the lands abutting or bordering upon the public highway. The amount so charged shall forthwith become a lien upon such lands and shall be added to and become and form part of the taxes next to the assessed and levied upon such lands, the same to bear interest at the same rate as taxes and shall be collected and enforced by the same officers and in the same manner as taxes.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $1,250, a term of imprisonment not exceeding 90 days or a period of community service not exceeding 90 days, or any combination thereof.
