It is the policy and one of the highest priorities of this Department to provide equal employment opportunity to all members and employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age or sex. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including, but not limited to, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leave of absence, compensation and training.

In furtherance of this policy, the Department expressly prohibits any form of sexual harassment, which is a form of sexual discrimination. Improper interference with the ability of members and employees to perform their expected job duties will not be tolerated.
It is the responsibility of each supervisor to create an atmosphere free from sexual harassment and to communicate the Department's policy of nondiscrimination to all subordinates, to promptly investigate complaints and to take corrective action as necessary. It is the responsibility of each member and employee to respect the rights of co-workers.
