The purpose of this article is to change the
term of office of the certain elected officials of the Town of Chautauqua
from the present term of two years to a term of four years and to
make the term of office consistent with the terms of the position
of Town Councilmen and Town Justices, which are four years.
The term of office of the Supervisor of the
Town of Chautauqua is hereby changed from a term of two years to a
term of four years commencing January 1, 2000, and shall be first
applicable to the Supervisor elected at the general election held
in November 1999.

The term of office of the Town Clerk of the
Town of Chautauqua is hereby changed from a term of two years to a
term of four years commencing January 1, 2000, and shall be first
applicable to the Town Clerk elected at the general election held
in November 1999.

The term of office of the Superintendent of
Highways of the Town of Chautauqua is hereby changed from a term of
two years to a term of four years commencing January 1, 2000, and
shall be first applicable to the Superintendent of Highways elected
at the general election held in November 1999.
