As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
ANIMAL
Dogs and other mammals susceptible to rabies.
OWNER
Every person having a right of proprietorship in such animal,
and every person who keeps or harbors such animal or has it in his
care, and every person who permits such animal to remain on or about
any premises occupied by him.
VETERINARIAN
A graduate of a recognized school of veterinary medicine
licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Any person violating any provision of this article shall, upon
conviction before a Magisterial District Judge, be subject to a fine
of not more than $600, plus costs of prosecution, and, in default
of payment of said fine and costs, to imprisonment for a term not
to exceed 30 days.
