The Supervisors of the Township of Unity, County of Westmoreland and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, hereby signify their intention and desire to organize an Authority under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, approved May 2, 1945, P.L. 382.[1]

The Supervisors of the Township of Unity are hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the Township of Unity Articles of Incorporation for said Authority.

The projects to be undertaken by the Unity Township Municipal Authority shall be:
A. 
Acquiring, holding, constructing, improving, maintaining and operating, on a lease, in the capacity of either lessor or lessee, waterworks, water supply works and water adoption systems in the Township of Unity, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
B. 
Such other projects as the Township of Unity may from time to time by resolution specify.
The Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Supervisors, in the name and on behalf of the Township of Unity, are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to do all such things and to enter into such agreements permitted by law as may be expedient in carrying out and consummation of the objects and purposes of this chapter in the creation of said Township of Unity Municipal Authority; and there is hereby appropriated out of the general funds of the Township of Unity sufficient funds to pay the costs and expenses of securing the charter for the Unity Township Municipal Authority, said costs and expenses to be reimbursed to said Township by said Authority from the first funds available to said Authority after chartering, formation and organization of the same.
