[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Unity 11-21-1991 by Res. No. R-31-91. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Township of Unity hereby creates a Zoning Hearing Board which shall consist of five residents of the Township of Unity and two alternate members, who shall also be residents of the Township of Unity.
The terms of office shall be for three years and shall be so fixed that the term of office for one member shall expire each year.
The Board shall promptly notify the Township of Unity of any vacancies in office which occur.
Members of the Board shall hold no other office in the Township of Unity.
Appointments to fill any vacancy shall be only for the unexpired portion of the term.
The term of office of an alternate member shall be three years.
The powers and duties of the Board shall be governed by the Comprehensive Development Ordinance of the Township of Unity, Ordinance No. O-1-91[1] and the provisions of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.[2]

Each member of the Board shall receive $25 per meeting as compensation for the member's services, with a maximum of $75 per month.[1]
