Piping in a plumbing system shall be installed
without undue strains and stresses, and provisions shall be made for
expansion, contraction, and structural settlement.
Hangers, anchors and supports shall be of metal,
or other material of sufficient strength to support the piping and
its contents, except that piers may be of concrete, brick, or other
approved material.
Hangers and anchors shall be securely attached
to the building construction at sufficiently close intervals to support
the piping and its contents.
Bases of cast-iron stacks shall be supported
on concrete, brick laid in cement mortar, metal brackets attached
to the building construction, or by other methods approved by Administrative
Authority. Other piping material shall be so anchored as to take the
load of the stack at the base.
