Prior to issuance of a permit for construction of any subdivision,
professional, commercial, industrial, etc., project on-site or off-site
improvements, the contractor shall procure and maintain, during the
term of the project, public liability and property damage insurance
with an insurance company licensed to conduct business in the State
of Michigan.
Prior to acceptance of improvements by the Township, a one-year
maintenance bond, in an amount set by and acceptable to the Township
Board, shall be posted by the proprietor.
These standards are not intended to repeal, abrogate, annul
or in any manner interfere with existing regulations or laws of the
Township, nor to conflict with any statutes of the State of Michigan
or Wayne County, except that these standards shall prevail in cases
where these standards impose a greater restriction than is provided
by the said existing statutes, laws or regulations.
Provisions of these standards shall be held to be the minimum
requirements adopted for promotion and preservation of public health,
safety and general welfare of the Township. In the event the requirements
of these construction standards are not clear, are in conflict with
other parts of these standards, or are in conflict with county, state,
or federal standards or requirements, the Director shall resolve the
conflict and advise the proprietor of such decision.
