A. All trucks utilized by the private towing contractor
shall have permanent identification on both the driver's side and
passenger's side doors with at least three-inch letters painted thereon
stating the name, address and telephone number of the owner or operator
of said vehicle. Plastic or any other removable type identification
sign shall not be acceptable.
B. No vehicle may be towed by a private towing contractor
unless there is posted a sign or signs at all entrances which can
easily be read at any time of the day or night indicating the location
of the no-parking zones, the name, address and telephone number of
the towing company, the address and telephone number of the location
where the vehicle will be stored and the charge therefor.
C. Prior to hooking a vehicle, the Galloway Township
Police Department must be notified so as to verify that the vehicle
is not listed as stolen or missing.
D. No other means of restraint to a motor vehicle shall
be utilized other than removal from the property. Booting is not permitted.
E. Unless another penalty is expressly provided for by New Jersey statute,
any violation of this section shall be subject to a fine not exceeding
$2,000 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a period of community
service not exceeding 90 days.
