The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of Council, for a term of one year. He shall be a person qualified by training and experience to assume and discharge the duties of his office.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall enforce the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance[1] and shall make all necessary surveys, viewings and inspections necessary to do so. He shall receive and administer complaints by public officers and residents relative to zoning and pursue them to resolution. He shall maintain records, open to the public, of every complaint and the action taken thereon.

The Deputy Zoning Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Council, for a term of one year. The appointee shall be a person qualified by training and experience to assume and discharge the duties of said office.

The Deputy Zoning Enforcement Officer shall assist the Zoning Enforcement Officer and shall perform such duties as may be determined from time to time by the Mayor and Council. In addition, subject to the approval of the Mayor and Council, the Deputy Zoning Enforcement Officer shall have the powers and duties of the Zoning Enforcement Officer as set forth in § 3-70.
