The purpose of this chapter is to regulate the
use of parks of the Town of Clarkson.
The following terms shall have the meanings
indicated in this section:
PARKS
The grounds, buildings thereon, waters therein and any other
property necessary for the operation thereof and constituting a part
thereof, which are now or hereafter will be maintained, operated and
controlled by the Town of Clarkson for public park purposes.
PERSON
Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation or association
of persons; the singular number shall include the plural.
TOWN
The Town of Clarkson.
The following activities are prohibited:
A. Parking a motor vehicle in other than designated locations.
B. Operating a motor vehicle in any manner contrary to
posted regulations.
C. Operating any motorized vehicles such as automobiles,
minibikes, motorcycles, snowmobiles and the like within the area of
the parklands; provided, however, that the operation of licensed vehicles
for the transportation of the public to and from the parklands is
permitted within designated roadways, and the parking of such vehicles
is also permitted within designated parking areas.
D. Allowing dogs to run unleashed.
E. Sports in locations other than those designated by
the Town Board.
F. Entering or using the parks during other than the
designated hours posted by the Town Board.
G. Overnight parking of motor vehicles.
H. Sale of alcoholic beverages, as defined in the Alcoholic
Beverage Control Law, in any town park.
I. The use of any alcoholic beverage other than beer
and wine in any town park.
J. The use of beer and wine other than in the picnic
and pavilion areas of the park.
K. The use of or being under the influence of any illegal
drug or substance.
L. Possess or use firearms, bow and arrow or other dangerous
weapons within the park, unless authorized by law or the Town Board
of the Town of Clarkson.
M. Disturb the peace and good order in the parks by fighting
or arguing in loud voices or threaten violence to any person or the
property of others.
N. Beg, hawk, peddle or solicit within the parks except
as authorized by the Town Board.
O. Use profane or abusive language while in the parks.
P. Injure, deface, destroy, disturb or remove any part
of the parks.
Q. Loiter in or near park restroom buildings.
R. Litter or leave behind refuse, trash and garbage.
The park is a carry in/carry out park. All refuse, trash and garbage
brought in or generated by a function or activity in the park should
be removed by the user.
S. Start a fire in a park except in park grills, fireplaces
or designated areas.
T. Fail to extinguish before leaving the park all fires
started or used. The dumping of ashes or fire onto the ground is absolutely
prohibited.
U. Golf practice or any golfing activities.
V. Bathing, wading or swimming.
W. Riding or having horses in the park except in areas
specifically designated for horses.
