In accordance with § 15.1-29.5 of
the Code of Virginia, as amended, the qualified voters of the County
held a referendum on Tuesday, November 5, 1974, on the question: "Shall
the provisions of § 18.2-341 of the Code of Virginia (commonly
known as the "Sunday Closing Law") be effective in the County?" The
results of this referendum, as certified by the Electoral Board of
the County, indicate that such a law is not necessary in the County.
As a result of the duly held referendum on the subject of the Sunday
Closing Law, the Board of Supervisors deems that the provisions of
§ 18.2-341 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, shall have no force or effect within the County.
