[NRO 1975, T. 2, §§ 201 to 207 (Secs. 7-21 to 7-27 of the 1985 Code)]
Whenever for any purpose there shall be occasion for a meeting of the legal voters of the City in their several wards, the Board of Aldermen shall issue their precept to the Selectmen of the respective wards directing them to issue their warrants calling meetings of the voters in their wards.
The precepts of the Board of Aldermen shall state the time, place and purpose for which the meeting is to be called and shall be in substance as follows:
STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
To the selectmen of ward no. _________ in the City of Nashua:
You are hereby required in the name of (L.S.) the State of New Hampshire to issue your warrant directed to the inhabitants of said ward, qualified to vote for senators, notifying them to appear at ___________________ in said ward, on ___________ the _____ day of _____, at six o'clock in the forenoon for the following purposes;
1st
To bring in their votes for governor, councillor, senator, sheriff, county solicitor, county treasurer, register of probate, register of deeds and three county commissioners.
2nd
To bring in their votes for representative to congress for the second congressional district in said state.
3rd
To bring in their votes for one or more persons to represent said ward in the general court of said state the ensuing two years.
4th
To bring in their votes for a Mayor, aldermen at large, ward aldermen, and members of the board of education, public works, and fire commissioners.
5th
To choose a moderator, three selectmen, a clerk of said ward for the ensuing two years and any other officers required to be chosen. And you are required to cause a copy of your warrant by you attested to be posted at the place of meeting, and a like copy at one other public place in said ward, 15 days before the day of meeting, and make return thereof upon said warrant to the ward clerk.
You are also required to cause the votes given in at said meeting for state and county officers to be recorded, certified and returned to the secretary of state and to the superior court for the county of Hillsborough, respectively, according to law; you are also required to cause the votes given in for all city officers to be recorded, certified and returned to the city clerk within 24 hours after such meeting.

Precepts shall be served either by giving one attested copy to two of the Selectmen in each ward or by leaving such copies at their usual place of abode.
Upon the service of the precept the Selectmen of each ward shall issue their warrants to the voters thereof, notifying them to appear at the time, place and for the purpose mentioned in the precept.
The Board of Aldermen shall cause suitable blanks for such warrants, and for the record and return of all votes or elections, to be furnished to the Selectmen and clerks of the several wards at the time of issuing their precepts.
The warrant of the selectmen shall be substantially as follows:
