A. 
Duty of owner. It shall be the duty of the owner of any building situated on any street or alley within the limits of the city to cause each building to be conspicuously numbered.
B. 
Duty of city official. It shall be the duty of the officer performing similar services to furnish any party or parties applying therefor the number or numbers appropriate for such building or buildings.
Any person owning any building within the limits of the city who shall neglect or refuse, for five days after notice from the officer performing similar duties, to place or cause to be placed the number or numbers on said building designated by said officer, or who shall refuse or neglect, for five days after notice from said officer, to remove from such building or buildings a number which may be thereon which said officer decides to be inappropriate for such building, shall be punished as provided in § 1-1 of this Code.
