It shall be unlawful for any person to expose for sale or display upon the sidewalk in front of the premises occupied by him any merchandise of any kind or character at any time of the day known as the first day of the week, commonly called "Sunday."
This Article shall not apply to any regular news dealer, who may display his or their papers, magazines and periodicals on racks or easels in front of the place so occupied by him at a distance not exceeding eight inches from the outside wall of said building so occupied.
Any violation of this Article shall be punishable as provided in § 1-1 of this Code.
