The "Town of Montville Road Standards" and the
"Town of Montville Improvement Details" dated January 19, 1991, shall
govern the construction and improvements of all roads, drainage structures,
appurtenances, and bridges presented or designed to be presented for
acceptance and maintenance by the Town of Montville.
As applicable, these standards are also to be
used and applied in conjunction with work within the Town rights-of-way
and for work required as a result of a subdivision, resubdivision
or site plan approved by the Montville Planning and Zoning Commission
encompassing and/or affecting preexisting Town-approved roads.
These standards are considered to be the minimum
design standards acceptable, and the Town Engineer shall have the
right to vary these requirements.
The Town Engineer may vary these requirements
only in accordance with the best engineering practice.
The Town of Montville Department of Public Works
shall comply with the following exceptions:
A. Routine maintenance and repair of existing Town roads
and infrastructure.
B. Pavement overlay on existing Town roads.
C. The widening of existing Town roads when there is
insufficient width to improve the right-of-way or field conditions
that prohibit said improvement to accommodate minimum standard road
widths.
D. The maintenance and paving of unimproved Town roads.
The Town Engineer shall be the authorized agent
for the Town Council for the purpose of administering and enforcing
the Town of Montville standards and improvements details.
The specifications set out in the "Town of Montville
Road Standards" dated January 1991, and the "Town of Montville Improvement
Details" dated January 1991, are made a part hereof and fully incorporated
in this article, with a copy of said Road Standards and Improvement
Details on file in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Montville
for the public review and inspection.
