[Adopted by the Board of Selectmen 1-26-1988 (Ord. No. 8.04); amended by the Town Council 5-27-2003]
At all times, it shall be unlawful to park any vehicle in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control device:
A. 
No vehicle shall be parked all night in a municipal parking lot, including parking lots at all Town public buildings.
B. 
No vehicle shall be parked on a public road/street so as to face oncoming traffic.
C. 
No vehicle shall be parked in excess of posted or metered times.
D. 
No vehicle shall be double parked.
E. 
No vehicle shall be parked in a posted "NO PARKING" zone.
F. 
No vehicle shall be parked so as to obstruct any driveway.
G. 
No vehicle shall be parked in a load/unload zone.
H. 
No vehicle shall be parked on any public road(s) during winter storms and snow removal operations.
I. 
No vehicle shall be parked so as to obstruct any fire hydrant.
J. 
No vehicle shall be parked on a public road/street less than 25 feet from a corner.
K. 
No vehicle shall be parked on a sidewalk.
L. 
No vehicle shall be parked in a crosswalk.
M. 
No vehicle shall be parked in a posted fire lane.
N. 
No vehicle shall be parked in a handicapped parking space without a permit.
A. 
The following penalties shall be imposed upon anyone permitting any vehicles to stand in any of the above-listed places:

Each violation listed above is payable to the general fund of the Town of East Hampton.
B. 
The East Hampton Police Department shall have the authority to enforce this article.
The hearing procedure for parking violations established pursuant to Article III of this chapter shall apply following the imposition of any penalty under this article.
