[Adopted at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions,
Art. I]
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings
indicated:
TRUCK
A motor vehicle that has two or more axles and a gross vehicle weight
in excess of 10,000 pounds and that is designed, used or maintained primarily
for the transportation of property or goods.
No person shall park a vehicle, except when in compliance with law or
at the direction of a police officer or traffic-control device, in any of
the following places:
B. In front of a public or private driveway.
D. Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
F. Within 20 feet of a crosswalk, or if none, then within
20 feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection of highways.
G. Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of railroad crossings.
H. Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station.
I. Along side or opposite any street excavation or obstruction
when such stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
J. On the highway side of any vehicle stopped or parked
at the edge or curb of a street.
L. At any place where official signs prohibit stopping or
parking.
N. In any place or in any manner so as to block or hamper
the immediate use of any egress from any fire escape conspicuously marked
as such.
No person shall park or allow to be placed or parked upon any street,
alley, or highway any vehicle between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Wherever parking spaces have been or shall hereafter be marked or designated
by appropriate lines on the pavement, no vehicle shall be parked except within
the spaces so marked or designated.
No truck (as defined in §
136-1) shall be parked at any time on any of the streets or highways for a period of longer than three hours.
When signs are erected in such block giving notice thereof, no person
shall park a vehicle for longer than two hours at any time in such block at
any time between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., of any day except Sundays
and public holidays.
No person shall park a vehicle within any alley, except that trucks
and other commercial vehicles may be parked for a period of time no longer
than necessary to load and unload.
Any vehicle parked in a time limited parking area and moved and again
parked within 15 minutes in the same block shall be deemed to have been stationary
in computing the time limit for parking.
The Village Council shall regulate parking in all Village-owned or Village-controlled
parking lots, and give notice of such regulations by appropriate signs or
markings, and it shall be a violation of this article for any person to park
any vehicle contrary to said regulations.
A violation of this article is a municipal civil infraction. The penalty
for a violation that is a municipal civil infraction shall be a civil fine
in an amount set by resolution of the Village Council from time to time.
