[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Andover 5-12-1919. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Mayor of the Borough of Andover shall appoint a commission consisting of three residents of the Borough of Andover, to be known as the "Shade Tree Commission."
The terms of office of the Commissioners first appointed shall begin the day of their appointment and shall continue for the respective periods of three, four and five years from the first day of January next succeeding such appointment, the terms of the appointees to be designated in their respective appointments.
Any vacancies occurring in the membership of the Commission by reason of death, resignation or removal of any of the Commissioners shall be filled for the unexpired term by the Mayor.
The Commission shall organize within 30 days after their appointment for the remainder of the year, and thereafter annually by the appointment of a Secretary who need not be a member of the Commission, and the election of one of its members as President.[1]
