The Atlantic County parks system has the following
types of sites available for overnight tent camping:
A. Individual/family: a designated site where a maximum
of six persons may camp overnight.

B. Group: a designated camping area where several campsites/platforms
can be reserved for the exclusive use of a group.

A. Individual family site: $17 per site, per night, based
upon a maximum of six persons per night.
B. Group sites with platforms: $20 per platform per night.
Platforms accommodate six to 10 people.
C. Group sites for tents: $25 per night for the camp
area for a group of up to 20 people; $25 per night for each additional
group of up to 20 people at the same site.
D. Lodge rental: $75 per day; $50 per day with camping.
In addition to the provisions of Article
V, Permit Requirements and Procedure; Fees; the following apply:
A. A separate application and processing fee must be
submitted for each campsite and period requested.

Applications for the reservation of campsites cannot be accepted
prior to January 1 of the year in which the campsite will be occupied.
Applications will be accepted beginning January 2 for the current
calendar year.

A. Minimum age of a permittee. Any campsite, lean-to, camp shelter,
cabin or yurt, park permit, or any pavilion, must be reserved and
occupied by at least one responsible person, 18 years of age or older.
Applicants seeking to reserve camping sites shall provide proof of
age (driver's license or similar proof) upon request.
B. Adult supervision of minors. Group reservations for occupancy of
a cabin, yurt, pavilion, campsite, or other facility that includes
any group of unrelated campers who are under 18 years of age must
include a minimum of two qualified adult supervisors, 18 years of
age or older. The permittee shall be solely responsible for provision
of age, gender, and program-appropriate supervision, which must always
be provided during occupancy of County Park facilities.
C. Camping season. There shall be no camping between November 1 and
March 31 at any County Park, and at such other times and specific
locations when the County Parks Director determines that camping may
not be safe or conflicts with other County operational requirements
(including but not limited to ongoing County improvements or significant
fire risks). The Parks Director may cancel reservations under such
circumstances, in which event the permittee shall receive a credit
to be used at a later date or refund of any reservation fee previously
paid to the County.
D. Additional limitations on use of campsites.
(1) A person shall be permitted to reserve no more than two campsites
of any kind at a time.
(2) Reservations shall not exceed 14 days, after which time all use and
occupancy of the campsite shall cease. Persons holding reservations
shall check out at the expiration of their registration by notifying
the Parks office and shall restore the campsite to a clean and orderly
condition, with all personal property removed, all trash properly
disposed of, and the site raked clean from all materials generated
by the permittee's camping activities. Any guests or invitees
of a permittee shall also cease use and occupancy of the site and
shall vacate the premises.
(3) Applications for permits to use campsites, cabins, shelters, or yurts
must include the name and address of the permittee and any other person
who will be occupying the campsite.
(4) Visitors are allowed at camping facilities between 8:00 a.m. and
8:00 p.m. All visitors must pay day-use parking fees, if applicable.
The number of visitors may be restricted due to limited facility capacities
or other conditions as deemed necessary by the County Parks Director.
(5) Water, electric and sewer hookups are not provided at campsites.
(6) Checkout time is 12:00 noon at all campsites. Checkout time is indicated
on permits issued for lean-tos, shelters, and cabins.
(7) Camping of any kind is permitted only at locations that have been
designated for camping by the County Parks Director.
E. Extended campsite occupancy ban.
(1) The total length of stay allowed at any campsite by any person is
14 consecutive nights. To maximize availability of camping facilities
that may be available for reservations, no person shall be permitted
to camp more than a total of 21 days throughout the County Park system
during the annual camping season which typically runs April 1 through
October 31. This time limitation shall apply without regard to whether
a person camps at various sites and without regard to the whether
a person is a permittee or a guest of permittee.
(2) At the expiration of the permitted length of stay, the campsite shall
be completely vacated. There shall be no renewal or extended occupancy
of a campsite, either by the permittee or by any other person who
has occupied a campsite with the permittee. Following a fourteen-consecutive-night
stay, there must be an out period of at least seven days.
F. Campsite reservations. No phone reservations will be accepted for
individual campsites.

Limitations/prohibitions:
A. The maximum length of any vehicle or combination of
vehicles permitted within the campground area shall be limited to
40 feet. By way of example, a single vehicle cannot exceed 40 feet
in length or the combined length of a towing vehicle plus trailer
cannot exceed 40 feet.
B. No self-contained RVs shall be permitted within the
confines of the campground.
C. No more than two vehicles can be located at any individual
campsite.
D. Boats, while they may remain on campground property,
must be removed from the water overnight.
Personal property left at a campsite after the
expiration of the permit may be removed, inventoried and stored by
the Division. Payment of a $25 fee will be required from the owner
before the personal property will be returned. The property will be
held for a minimum of 90 days. After 90 days the property will be
considered abandoned and may be disposed of by the Division.
No pets or furred animals are permitted at any
campsite or overnight facility, with the exception of service animals.

The cutting of wood, for fires or otherwise,
is prohibited, except for persons holding a permit from the Division.
A. The wood
cutting program referred to as the "Homeowners' Firewood Program"
(hereinafter designated as the "Program") will be conducted annually
from October 1 until April 15 of the ensuing year. By way of example,
for the 2013-2014 season, the commencement date would be October 1,
2013, and the program would run until April 15, 2014.
B. The program
will be operated under a permit system with the cost of the permit
to be $20 per ''vehicle load." Permits will be issued in accordance
with rules and regulations established by the Division of Parks and
Recreation of the Atlantic County Department of Public Works. The
initial rules and regulations are as specified in a document entitled
''Homeowner Firewood Information Sheet 2013-2014," which rules and
regulations are incorporated herein and approved by this reference.
C. Participants
in the program will be required to execute an indemnification and
hold harmless agreement in the form as established by the Division
of Parks and Recreation in consultation with the office of County
Counsel.
D. The Division
of Parks and Recreation shall have the authority to update and modify
the rules and regulations governing the program as may be necessary
by providing a copy of the proposed changes to the rules and regulations
to the Atlantic County Board of County Commissioners Parks Committee.
If the Parks Committee is in agreement with the proposed changes,
then those recommendations shall be passed along to the entire Board
of County Commissioners, and the changes shall be approved by a duly
formulated resolution adopted by the Board of County Commissioners.
The Division reserves the right to put restrictions
on the use of campsites, including the right to close a campsite,
due to weather or other conditions.
