	Chapter 74, 1723-24 VOTE appointing a committee on the petition of Joseph Write and others relative to a grant of land (in a place named Cold Spring).
	Chapter 145, 1738-39 ORDER calling a town meeting at Cold Spring.
	Chapter 201, 1739-40 ORDER for a meeting of the inhabitants of Cold Spring.
	Chapter 147, 1742-43 ORDER empowering the inhabitants of Cold Spring to levy a tax of one penny per acre on all lands.
	Chapter 7, 1761-62 AN ACT for incorporating the Plantation called Cold Spring into a town by the name of Belcher's Town.
	Chapter 152, 1763-64 RESOLVE allowing six pounds two shillings and nine pence to the Town of Greenwich. (In this act the Town of Belchertown is referred to as "Belcher-Town.")
	Chapter 3, 1764-75 AN ACT for apportioning and assessing a tax of 50,000 pounds; also to assess the Town of Belchertown the sum of six pounds two shillings and nine pence, being so much that the Town of Greenwich was taxed, and which should have been laid upon Belchertown.
	Chapter 32, 1764-65 RESOLVE granting with notice the petition of Simon Stone and others to be set off from Belcher-Town to Greenwich.
	Chapter 221, 1764-65 ORDER setting off Simon Stone and others with their estates from Belchertown to Greenwich.
	Chapter 1, 1771-72 AN ACT for annexing certain lands lying in the Town of Belchertown in the County of Hampshire, with the inhabitants thereon, to the Town of Greenwich, in the same county. [As originally engrossed the name was Belcherston, but this was changed to Belchertown by inserting "w" with a caret apparently in the handwriting of Governor Hutchinson, wherever the name occurs in the engrossment.]
	Chapter 21, 1780 RESOLVE remitting a fine of 600 pounds laid on the Town of Belchertown for deficiency in men in 1779 and granting them a bounty of 120 pounds.
	Chapter 71, 1785 RESOLVE on the petition of Hezekiah Root, Collector of Taxes in the Town of Belchertown, directing the Treasurer to take bonds of the Selectmen of said town for the payment of the money mentioned.
	Chapter 102, 1785 RESOLVE on the petition of Joseph Root, in behalf of Hezekiah Root, authorizing the inhabitants of Belchertown to choose a person to collect the rate bills mentioned and empowering the Assessors in this case.

	Chapter 2, 1787 AN ACT to divide the Town of Greenwich into two parishes and for including the northeast corner of the Town of Belchertown in the south parish.
	Chapter 3, 1788 AN ACT for setting of a certain tract of land, belonging to the Town of Belchertown, in the County of Hampshire, and for annexing the same to the Town of Pelham.
	Chapter 58, 1795 RESOLVE granting to the Town of Belchertown $40 (a fine laid upon the town for not sending a Representative to the General Court in 1790).
	Chapter 165, 1800 RESOLVE on the petition of the inhabitants of the Town of Belchertown confirming the transactions of certain town meetings. (The "doings" were confirmed "notwithstanding any informalities in the manner of warning town meetings.")
	Chapter 52, 1802 AN ACT to establish a corporation by the name of the Belchertown and Greenwich Turnpike Corporation.
	Chapter 100, 1804 AN ACT in addition to an act to establish a corporation by the name of the Belchertown and Greenwich Turnpike Corporation.
	Chapter 55, 1849 RESOLVE on the petition of the Overseers of the Poor of the Town of Belchertown. (During this period, there are many, many references to paupers and to the state appropriations made on their behalf.)
	Chapter 277, 1851 AN ACT to incorporate the Amherst and Belchertown Railroad Company
	Chapter 32, 1854 AN ACT to extend the time for locating and constructing the Amherst and Belchertown Railroad.
	Chapter 24, 1856 RESOLVE in favor of the Town of Belchertown.
	Chapter 174, 1869 AN ACT to incorporate the Athol and Enfield Railroad Company. (Act authorized Town of Belchertown "to subscribe to and hold shares in the capital stock.")
	Chapter 260, 1869 AN ACT to incorporate the Massachusetts Central Railroad Company. (Act authorized the corporation to locate, construct, maintain and operate in Belchertown.)
	Chapter 84, 1869 AN ACT to establish the Belchertown Cemetery Association.
	Chapter 44, 1873 RESOLVE in favor of the Town of Belchertown (relief of a state pauper).
	Chapter 93, 1884 AN ACT to authorize the Town of Belchertown to comply with the provisions of the will of Calvin Bridgeman and to legalize the action of said town accepting the bequest contained in said will.
	Chapter 134, 1887 AN ACT to incorporate the Clapp Memorial Library. (The act includes the following language: "provided, always, that the inhabitants of Belchertown shall have free use of said library under suitable and proper rules." The act also established a corporation of seven members, "of whom the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen for the time being shall always be a member ex officio.")
	Chapter 353, 1891 AN ACT to confirm the proceedings of the Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Belchertown.
	Chapter 284, 1892 AN ACT to confirm the proceedings of the Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Belchertown. (The warrant calling meeting had been defective.)
	Chapter 493, 1896 AN ACT to incorporate the Belchertown Water Company. (Section 16 established three elected Water Commissioners for three-year terms.)
	Chapter 507, 1897 AN ACT to authorize the Town of Belchertown to accept a certain bequest (Susan M.D. Bridgman will). (The act was accepted by the town in 1897.)
	Chapter 112, 1898 AN ACT to confirm the proceedings of the Assessors of the Town of Belchertown for the year 1894.
	Chapter 310, 1908 AN ACT to establish the Belchertown Fire District and to provide for supplying the same with water.
	Chapter 456, 1909 AN ACT to extend the corporate powers of the Boston Duck Company. (Company was authorized to supply water in Belchertown.)
	Chapter 350, 1912 AN ACT to incorporate the Belchertown Water Company.

	Chapter 240, 1938 AN ACT annexing the Town of Dana and certain portions of the Towns of Prescott and Greenwich to the Town of Petersham. (This Act provided that the town records of Greenwich should be turned over to Belchertown.)
	Chapter 172, 1939 AN ACT providing for the permanent custody by the Metropolitan District Commission of the records of the Towns of Dana, Enfield, Greenwich and Prescott.
	Chapter 24, 1943 RESOLVE in favor of the Town of Belchertown.
	Chapter 270, 1946 AN ACT authorizing the Town of Belchertown to borrow money for school purposes. (Act stated the town could borrow up to $100,000 within a five-year period.)
	Chapter 575, 1947 AN ACT relative to the furnishing of water by the Metropolitan District Commission to certain towns and districts and to the construction of an aqueduct system from Quabbin Reservoir to the Chicopee Valley.
	Chapter 414, 1948 AN ACT restoring to Helen C. Keyes the right to be retired under the Teachers' Retirement Law if found to be permanently incapable of rendering satisfactory service as a teacher on account of physical disability.
	Chapter 628, 1951 AN ACT authorizing the Town of Belchertown to borrow money for school purposes.
	Chapter 724, 1951 AN ACT authorizing the Town of Ware to withdraw from the school superintendency union comprising said town and the Town of Belchertown.
	Chapter 322, 1952 AN ACT authorizing the Department of Mental Health to permit the Town of Belchertown to install a fire warning system at the Belchertown State School.
	Chapter 339, 1954 AN ACT providing for the establishment of a right-of-way for public access to Lake Metacomet in the Town of Belchertown. (County Commissioners are authorized to lay out right of way; Board of Selectmen is authorized to make specific repairs on it or improve it; Board of Selectmen is not liable for injuries sustained thereon.)
	Chapter 502, 1961 AN ACT relative to the acquisition of additional water supply by the Town of Amherst and authorizing the Town of Amherst to sell water within the Town of Belchertown.

	Chapter ( ), 1966 AN ACT authorizing the Division of Fisheries and Game to acquire certain land in the Towns of Ware and Belchertown for fish and wildlife management purposes.
	Chapter 400, 1973 AN ACT authorizing the Department of Mental Health to convey three parcels of property located in the Town of Belchertown to said Town of Belchertown for sewer and water purposes.
	Chapter 486, 1977 AN ACT authorizing the Town of Belchertown to enter into an agreement with the Town of Palmer to construct and maintain sewerage works within the Town of Palmer.
	Chapter 414, 1980 AN ACT directing the Department of Mental Health to sell to the Town of Belchertown a parcel of land in said town for the purpose of constructing a school and recreation area. (Parcel consists of about 13 acres, more or less, abutting United States Highway Route 202.)
	Chapter 258, 1981 AN ACT authorizing the Town of Belchertown to install water mains in the water district within said town.
	Chapter 351, 1981 AN ACT making appropriations for the fiscal year 1982. (Section 280 required the Metropolitan District Commission to make payments in lieu of taxes to the Towns of Belchertown, Hardwick, New Salem, Pelham, Petersham and Ware. The total sum was not to exceed $50,000.)
	Chapter 205, 1982 AN ACT increasing the amount of money the Town of Belchertown may borrow to install water mains in the water district within said town. (Amends Chapter 258 of the Acts of 1987 and states that the town may appropriate $102,000.)
	Chapter 238, 1983 AN ACT providing for the establishment and administration of rent regulations and the control of evictions in mobile home park accommodations in the Town of Belchertown. (The act empowered the town, through bylaw, to regulate rents for the use or occupancy of mobile park accommodations.)
	Chapter 456, 1983 AN ACT relative to the licensing and keeping of dogs in the Town of Belchertown. (Empowers the town to keep dog-related revenue, instead of paying it to Hampshire County. The act vests the responsibility for licensing, etc., in the office of the Town Clerk.)
