Pedestrians shall be subject to traffic control signals at intersections as provided in this chapter, but at all other places pedestrians shall be accorded the privileges and shall be subject to the restrictions as stated in this Article.
A. 
Where traffic control signals are not in place or in operation, the driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way, slowing down or stopping if need be so as to yield, to a pedestrian crossing at the roadway within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as provided in this Article.
B. 
Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any unmarked crosswalk at any intersection to permit a pedestrian to cross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear shall not overtake and pass such stopped vehicle.
A. 
Every pedestrian crossing a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right of way to all vehicles upon the roadway.
B. 
Between adjacent intersections at which traffic control signals are in operation, pedestrians shall not cross at any place except at marked crosswalks.
C. 
Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, every driver of a vehicle shall exercise due care to avoid colliding with any pedestrian upon any roadway, and shall give warning by sounding a horn when necessary, and shall exercise proper precaution upon observing any child or any confused or incapacitated person upon a roadway.
D. 
Pedestrians shall walk or jog on the extreme left side of the roadway facing oncoming traffic when no sidewalks are available.
Crosswalks shall exist, whether marked or unmarked, at all intersections. At areas other than intersections, crosswalks shall be designated by the Selectmen, with a list of such areas to be placed on record with the Town Clerk's office, with those areas to be appropriately marked.[1]

Any person who violates any provision of Article III of this chapter shall, upon adjudication, be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.) but not more than one hundred dollars ($100.).
