No person shall walk upon, drive a vehicle over or otherwise damage any newly laid pavement or pavement in the course of construction or repair.
A. 
No person shall place or mix any material on any pavement which has a tendency to adhere to, discolor or otherwise injure the same.
B. 
The following are declared to be examples of material injurious to pavements: This enumeration is intended only to provide typical illustrations and shall not be deemed exclusive.
(1) 
Lime, plaster, mortar or concrete.
(2) 
Salt and salt solutions.
(3) 
Carbon bisulphide and carbon tetrachloride.
(4) 
Ether.
(5) 
Alcohol.
(6) 
Petroleum products, especially benzine, gasoline, kerosene and lubricating oils.
(7) 
Alkalies, especially ammonia, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and potassium carbonate.
(8) 
Acids, especially sulphuric, hydrochloric and nitric, and chloride of lime.
(9) 
Water fluids.
C. 
Where construction or other work necessitates the use of such materials, they shall be kept in a container of such construction as to prevent them from escaping onto the pavement.
