Plans and specifications for any proposed water main extension shall be submitted to the Village Engineer for his approval, and no work shall be started until he has issued a permit therefor.
A. 
All water main extensions shall be of class 150 cast-iron pipe, at least six inches in diameter, laid with a minimum cover of five feet, with joint type approved by the Village Engineer.
B. 
Required fittings, such as tees, crosses, valves, etc., shall be installed at each street intersection and at other locations wherever branches are likely to be needed in the future.
C. 
At intervals of approximately 300 feet a tee shall be installed for a hydrant connection. When hydrants are installed they shall be of six-inch capacity, and a six-inch double-gate valve shall be placed in the line between the main and the hydrant.
All extensions, including workmanship and materials, shall be inspected by and receive final approval of the Village Engineer prior to being placed in service.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this Article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
