807.1 Attic access. All new one-
and two-family dwellings constructed in the Township shall have an
attic access located in a hallway of the structure, and said opening
shall be no smaller than:

Twenty-two and one-half inch by 54 inches where
disappearing stairs are used.

(2)
|
Twenty-six inches by 44 inches in all other
cases.

In one- and two-family dwellings, where there
are separate attic areas, each area shall have a separate attic access
as described above.

1211.2 Access to attics: An opening
not less than 26 inches by 44 inches with ready access thereto shall
be provided to any attic area having a clear height of over 30 inches.
The access shall be located in the common hallway area and clearly
identified. Where doors or other openings are installed in the draftstopping,
such doors shall be self-closing and be of approved materials as specified
in this section, and the construction shall be tightly fitting around
all pipes, ducts or other assemblies piercing the draftstopping. In
structures where there are separate attic areas, each such attic area
shall have separate attic access as defined above.

707.1 General: Walls shall have
sufficient structural stability under fire conditions to allow collapse
of construction on either side without collapse of the wall and shall
be constructed of noncombustible masonry units that provide the required
strength and fire-resistance rating specified in Table 602, but not
less than the fire resistance rating of the use group specified in
Table 707.1. Strength and stability shall comply with the provisions
of Chapters 14 and 16.

707.6.2 Residential occupancies: In occupancies in Use Groups R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4 containing sleeping
areas for individuals, families or households, the party wall or fire
wall shall be continuous masonry construction from the foundation
or footing to 30 inches above the roof surface.

904.2 Use Groups A-1, A-3 and A-4: Where a Use Group A-1, A-3, or A-4 fire area exceeds 5,000 square
feet (465 M2) in area, an automatic fire-suppression
system shall be provided as follows:

Throughout the entire story or floor level where
the A-1, A-3 or A-4 Use Group is located;

(2)

Throughout all stories and floor levels below
the A-1, A-3 or A-4 Use Group; and

(3)

Throughout all intervening stories and floor
levels between the A-1, A-3 or A-4 Use Groups and the highest level
of exit discharge that serves the Use Group A-1, A-3 or A-4 fire area,
including the highest level of exit discharge.

904.4 Use Groups B and E: An automatic
fire suppression system shall be provided throughout all buildings
having a Use Group B and E fire area which exceeds 5,000 square feet.

904.6 Use Group I: An automatic
fire suppression system shall be provided throughout all buildings
with a Use Group I fire area.
|
904.7 Use Groups M, S-1 and F-1: Throughout all buildings with Use Groups M, S-1 and F-1 where the
floor area exceeds 5,000 square feet, an automatic fire-suppression
system shall be provided.

915.2.1 Building height: Standpipe
systems shall be installed throughout all buildings with two or more
stories. Standpipe systems shall also be required in buildings where
occupancy occurs in an area that is partly or completely below grade,
regardless of the number of stories above grade.

915.2.2 Building area: Standpipe
systems shall be installed in all single story buildings where any
portion of the building floor area is more than 400 feet (122m) of
travel from the nearest point of Fire Department vehicle access.

915.7 Hose connection/fire hose: A standpipe hose connection shall be located within the stair tower
at each floor level at every exit stairway. The standpipe connection
shall be enclosed by an approved hose cabinet located not more than
five feet above the floor. The hose cabinet shall be supplied with
one-and-one-half-inch lined approved fire hose and approved variable
fog nozzle hung on an approved pin rack. The length of the fire hose
shall be a minimum of 50 feet in length or a sufficient length to
extend to all areas of the fire area on the floor if there is only
one fire hose cabinet required on that floor or 50% of the area to
the next fire hose cabinet where more than one fire hose cabinet is
required. In addition, also located in each fire hose cabinet shall
be one spanner wrench and one pick head ax.
