To promote the health, safety, convenience and
general welfare of its inhabitants; to protect the community and to
promote sound growth, the Town of Barre is hereby divided into districts
in which the use of land and the construction, alteration, height,
location and use of buildings and structures are hereby regulated
as provided under the authority of Chapter 40-A of the General Laws.
