Bazaars and raffles — See Ch. 178.
It shall be unlawful for any person over 16 years of age to solicit orders of purchase for immediate or future delivery of goods, wares, merchandise or services, including magazines and other printed material, from door to door or on any street or roadway within the Town of Redding without first registering with the Redding Police Department.
Each person registering at the Redding Police Department shall be required to furnish the following:

Complete name.
B. 
Date of birth.
C. 
Social security number.
D. 
Physical description.
E. 
Valid, state-issued photo identification.
F. 
Corporate affiliation.
G. 
Telephone number.
H. 
Nature of goods or merchandise.
I. 
A statement as to the time period during which the registrant intends to solicit.
Any person who has been convicted of a felony or violent misdemeanor or who violates any provision of this chapter shall be prohibited from such solicitation.
Any person who properly registers with the Redding Police Department may only solicit between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday. There shall be no such solicitation on Sundays or legal holidays.
Upon proper completion of this registration process, the Chief of Police of the Redding Police Department or his designee shall issue a certificate which indicates that the bearer of said certificate properly registered with the Redding Police Department. This certificate shall include an expiration date.
Violation of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not more than $90.
