Editor's Note: Section 2 of Bill No. 97-47
provides that this Act is an emergency act and "necessary to give
the Core Service Agency Board the expertise to begin implementing
certain programs required by the State of Maryland by July, 1997,
and shall take effect on the date it becomes law."
The term of an appointed member is 3 years. At the
end of a term, a member continues to serve until a successor is appointed
and qualifies. A member who is appointed after a term has begun serves
only for the rest of the term and until a successor is appointed and
qualifies.
Provide oversight of publicly-funded mental health
and addictions programs, including the establishment of quality assurance
and utilization review data for all grantees and subcontractors;
Provide, with assistance from the Executive Director
and staff, all required fiscal, statistical, and narrative reports
to the State Mental Hygiene Administration, the Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Administration, and other agencies.
