No person shall, within the borough limits of the Borough of Brooklawn, hunt, attempt to hunt or discharge firearms of any type, including rifles, shotguns, pistols, air guns and BB guns, at any time.
Nothing in this chapter shall prohibit the use of firearms for the protection of life, person or property.
The restrictions of this chapter notwithstanding, the Borough Council may from time to time, after having given due regard to the safety and welfare of the residents of the borough, designate areas in which hunting will be permitted, provided such hunting can be conducted without danger to residents of the borough. Any firearms taken to or from designated areas for hunting or target shooting must be carried in a bona fide firearm case.
In the event a juvenile violates any part of this chapter, the firearm will be confiscated and must be redeemed by parents or legal guardian on first offense.
Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500 or to imprisonment in the county jail for a period not exceeding 90 days, or both, at the discretion of the Judge hearing the case.
