Whenever any words and phrases are used in this chapter, the meanings respectively ascribed to them in Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the Revised Statutes of New Jersey shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein.
All former traffic ordinances of the Borough of Brooklawn are hereby repealed, except that this repeal shall not affect or prevent the prosecution or punishment of any person for any act done or committed in violation of any ordinance hereby repealed prior to the taking effect of this chapter.
If any part or parts of this chapter are held to be invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this chapter.

A. 
Unless another penalty is expressly provided by New Jersey statute, every person, firm, association or corporation violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the fines and/or penalties as set forth in § 1-15 of the Code of the Borough of Brooklawn, provided that a fine of $28 shall be imposed by the Violations Bureau of the Municipal Court of the Borough of Brooklawn for parking violations on streets or in commercial centers as follows:

(1) 
No parking -- one side only.
(2) 
No parking -- alleyways and entrances.
(3) 
Restricted hours of parking.
(4) 
Bus zones.
(5) 
School zones.
(6) 
No parking in ones marked for the handicapped.
(7) 
Brooklawn Shopping Center.
(8) 
No parking between the curb and the sidewalk.
(9) 
Fire zones.
B. 
Unless another penalty is provided for under New Jersey statute, every person convicted for a violation of § 141-10 of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable for a penalty of not more than $500 or imprisonment for a term of not more than 90 days, or both, provided that a fine of $250 shall be imposed by the Violations Bureau of the Brooklawn Municipal Court.

C. 
Unless another penalty is provide for under New Jersey statute, every person convicted for a violation of §§ 141-15 and 141-21 of this chapter or any supplement thereto shall be liable for a penalty of not more than $500 or imprisonment for a term of not more than 90 days, or both, provided that a fine of $55 shall be imposed by the Violations Bureau of the Brooklawn Municipal Court.
