A.
It shall be unlawful for any resident of the village
to operate a bicycle on any village street unless the same has been inspected
and registered by an authorized police officer of the village at the office
of the Chief of Police or at such other place or places as he shall designate.
B.
A fee of $0.50 shall be charged for such inspection and
registration.

A.
No bicycle shall be registered unless it shall, on inspection,
be found to be mechanically safe and equipped in accordance with the provisions
of § 1236 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
B.
An identification tag shall be affixed to each registered
bicycle, and such tag shall not be removed therefrom except by a duly authorized
police officer.
Every registration and identification tag shall take effect on the first day of May of each year, or whenever later issued, and shall expire on the succeeding 30th day of April; provided, however, that in order to give ample opportunity for renewing registration, any registration and identification tag in effect on the last day of April may be used during the month of May following, for the operation of the bicycle for which it is issued. The registration and identification tag shall be renewed annually in the same manner and upon payment of the same annual fee as provided in §§ 61-1 and 61-2 of this chapter.
In case of transfer of ownership of a registered bicycle, the person
to whom it is transferred shall have the same registered in his own name.
If a registered bicycle is dismantled or destroyed or otherwise removed from
operation, the person in whose name it was registered shall report such fact
to the Chief of Police.
Persons riding or propelling any bicycle shall comply with all applicable
regulations set forth in the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

No bicycle shall be parked in any manner on any village sidewalk.
A.
Suspension. Except as herein otherwise provided by § 61-7B, for any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, the Village Justice may prohibit such person from operating, riding or propelling a bicycle for a period not to exceed six months, and may order such person's registration and identification tag confiscated.
B.
Fine. Any person who operates, rides or propels a bicycle
without first having the same registered as provided for by this chapter or
who operates, rides or propels a bicycle after his registration and identification
tag have been confiscated or who operates, rides or propels a bicycle after
having been prohibited to do so by the court shall be punished by a fine of
not over $10. The parent of any child and the guardian of any ward shall not
authorize or knowingly permit any such child or ward to violate any of the
provisions of this chapter, and such parent or guardian shall be subject to
the penalties provided herein.
