[Adopted 12-7-1962]
Pursuant to § 20, Subdivision 6(b), of the Town Law of the State of New York, the office of Town Superintendent of Highways of the Town of New Berlin, Chenango County, New York, heretofore an elective office, shall be an appointive office of such town effective on and after January 1, 1964.
Pursuant to §§ 82 and 90 of the Town Law, within 10 days from the date of this article, the Town Clerk shall post and publish a notice which shall set forth the date of the adoption of this article, shall contain an abstract of this article concisely setting forth the purpose and effect thereof, shall specify that this article was adopted subject to a permissive referendum[1] and shall publish such notice in the New Berlin Gazette, a newspaper published in the Town of New Berlin and having general circulation in such town, and, in addition thereto, the Town Clerk shall post or cause to be posted in five conspicuous places in the Town of New Berlin copies of such notice within 10 days after the date of the adoption of this article.

Editor's Note: This resolution was subject to a permissive referendum, and no petition requesting a vote upon such resolution was filed within 30 days after the date of adoption of such resolution. Therefore, such resolution became effective on 1-8-1963.
