Upon the prior approval of the Town Board or Supervisor, the Superintendent
of Highways may issue a permit to hold a block party on a town street or road.
Prior to the time for commencing such party, celebration or event and for
the duration thereof, the permitting official shall cause the street or portion
thereof to be blocked to motor vehicles, as defined in the vehicle and traffic
law, and to provide detour signs for vehicular traffic.
The date and hours of the party or event shall be stated on the permit
including a rain date, if requested and approved.
All permits shall be subject to the direction of the Police Department
where an emergency or other event involving public safety or convenience shall
arise.
All permits shall expire at 12:00 midnight.
