A. 
All premises which are set back more than 150 feet from a public road, street or thoroughfare, or any structure that exceeds 30 feet in height, and which is set back over 50 feet, or has 2,500 square feet of floor area on any one level shall be provided with a fire lane or lanes so that all buildings or combustible materials or flammable storage areas are readily accessible to fire-fighting apparatus. Each fire lane shall be a minimum of 24 feet in width and a maximum grade of 10% with the road edge closest to the building at least 10 feet from the building. All fire lanes shall have curve radii of not less than 45 feet. Any dead-end road more than 300 feet long shall be provided with a turnaround at the closed end at least 90 feet in diameter.
B. 
Fire lane; no parking at any time. It shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle on or obstruct any fire lane. Authorized law enforcement officers can cite the owner, operator of said vehicle for violation of this section, and said vehicle can be directed, towed and removed at owner's expense. Signs shall be posted at each fire lane no greater than 50 feet apart and shall read as follows: "FIRE LANE; NO PARKING AT ANY TIME."
C. 
Signs. All signs shall be printed in red letters on white background. The designation and maintenance of fire lanes on public and private property shall be accomplished pursuant to the recommendation of the Police Chief. The fire lane shall also be designated by a red painted curb.
D. 
Variances or exceptions on private property.
(1) 
A property owner may request establishment of a loading/unloading zone when clear justification exists to create such a zone. All requests must be approved by the Police Chief.
(2) 
If such a zone is authorized, it shall be unlawful for any person to park any motor vehicle on or obstruct any loading/unloading zone for a duration greater than three minutes. Authorized law enforcement officers can cite the owner, operator of said vehicle for violation of this section, and said vehicle can be directed towed and removed at owners expense. Signs shall be posted at each loading/unloading zone no greater than 50 feet apart and shall read as follows: "No Parking; 3 Minute Loading and Unloading Only."
(3) 
All signs shall be printed in red letters on white background. The designation and maintenance of loading/unloading zones shall be accomplished pursuant to the recommendation of the Police Chief. The loading/unloading zone shall also be designated by a yellow painted curb.[1]
