The owners of any premises in the Town of Federalsburg that have a sidewalk or footpath used by the public shall remove all snow and ice from said sidewalk within 24 hours following the cessation of the snowfall.
In the case of extreme snowfall, the Town will allow 48 hours for the removal of snow or ice from said sidewalk. "Extreme snowfall" shall mean 15 inches and above over a twenty-four-hour period.
No snow or ice removed from any sidewalks, footpaths or premises shall be deposited in the gutters or the streets of the Town of Federalsburg.
Whenever any premises situated in the Town of Federalsburg shall not be kept free of snow and ice as set forth in this article, the Mayor and Council of Federalsburg are not in any way responsible or liable for the removal of the snow and ice or any accidents caused by the nonremoval of the same in that the individual property owner is completely liable and responsible for the same.

A. 
If said owners fail to remove said snow or ice within the time aforesaid, then the owners shall be notified to remove immediately the snow or ice from the sidewalks, footpaths or premises aforesaid. If not removed by aforesaid time from the giving of the notice, property owners shall be fined for a municipal infraction as provided in Chapter 1, Article I, for each and every day said snowfall shall remain unmoved.
B. 
An unpaid, overdue municipal infraction for failure to remove snow shall bear interest at the rate of 1.5% per month until paid. An unpaid, overdue municipal infraction for failure to remove snow shall also constitute a personal obligation of the property owner and shall be a lien against all real and personal property of the owner located within the Town and shall be collectible in the same manner in which real estate taxes are collected, or the Mayor and Council of Federalsburg may collect it by such action at law as they deem appropriate.
