In order to provide for the health, safety and
welfare of the present and future population of Federalsburg, the
Planning and Zoning Commission shall refuse to approve any proposed
subdivision when such subdivision would bring about the development
of land which is unsuitable for such development due to flooding,
lack of drainage, excessive erosive action by water, unstabilized
slope or fill, impacting of sensitive areas or Critical Area habitat
protection areas, or other conditions which may cause danger to life,
health or property, or aggravate erosion or flood hazards.
In keeping with the guidelines as stated in
the Federalsburg Comprehensive Plan, adopted in January 1997, the
Town's desire is to create more single-family residential neighborhoods
versus multifamily housing.
