Every person convicted of a traffic infraction
for a violation of any provision of this chapter which is not a violation
of any provisions of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New
York shall for a first conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of
not more than $50, or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or
by both such fine and imprisonment; for a second such conviction within
18 months thereafter, such person shall be punished by a fine of not
more than $100, or by imprisonment of not more than 45 days, or by
both such fine and imprisonment; upon a third or subsequent conviction
within 18 months after the first conviction, such person shall be
punished by a fine of not more than $250, or by imprisonment for not
more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.

A. The provisions of §
208-42 notwithstanding, any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this chapter relating to parking shall be punished by payment of the following fines:

B. All such fines unpaid within 15 days of issue shall
double in penalty.
C. This chapter shall take effect immediately upon receipt
of official acknowledgment from the office of the Secretary of State
of the State of New York that this chapter has been filed with said
office, as provided in § 27 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
