A violation of any provision of this chapter shall be punishable, upon conviction thereof, by a fine not exceeding $250 or imprisonment for up to 15 days, or both.
A. 
Civil proceedings under this section may be brought by the Village Attorney, at the request of the Mayor or the Village Board, in a court of competent jurisdiction.
B. 
Civil proceedings may also be brought to:
(1) 
Secure injunctive relief.
(2) 
Recover any expenses, including labor, materials, engineering and legal expenses incurred by the Village to remedy violations or enforce the provisions of this chapter.
(3) 
Achieve such other remedies as may be available under law or equity to correct or remedy a violation or protect the interests of the Village.
Whenever a violation of this chapter occurs, any person may file a complaint in regard thereto. All such complaints must be in writing and shall be filed with the Code Enforcement Officer, who shall properly record such complaint and immediately investigate and report thereon to the Village Board and the Planning Board.
A. 
The provisions of this chapter shall supersede local laws, ordinances, codes or regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter, provided that nothing herein contained shall be construed to prevent the adoption and enforcement of a law, ordinance, code or regulation which is more restrictive or establishes a higher standard during the period in which it is in effect.
B. 
Where a provision of this chapter is found to be in conflict with provision of a zoning, building, electrical, plumbing, fire, safety, health, water supply or sewage disposal law or ordinance or regulation adopted pursuant thereto or other local law, ordinance, code or regulation, the provision or requirement which is the more restrictive or which establishes the higher standard shall prevail.
