There shall be a Township Clerk appointed by the Township Council for a three-year term in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-133 and he shall have such powers and duties as are set forth in N.J.S.A 40A:9-133e as said statute may be amended and supplemented from time to time.

There is hereby created the position of Deputy Township Clerk, who shall be appointed by the Township Council for a one-year term from January 1 of the year of his appointment and who shall serve until his successor has been appointed. The Deputy Township Clerk shall assist the Township Clerk in the performance and exercise of his powers, duties and functions of his office and, in addition, during the absence or disability of the Township Clerk, shall have all the powers of the Township Clerk and shall perform the functions and duties of such office.
The Township Clerk and the Deputy Township Clerk shall receive such compensation as shall be fixed by the Township Council in the Salary Ordinance.

There shall be no fee for notary services.
