The Building Inspector of the Town of Cornwall is designated as the administrative and enforcement officer for the Town of Cornwall of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code within the unincorporated area of the Town of Cornwall.

Editor's Note: A prefatory note states that the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code is in effect in the Town of Cornwall and that Title 19 NYCRR Part 444-2 requires that the town provide for the administration and enforcement of this code.
The Building Inspector shall have all of the powers and duties relating to the administration and enforcement of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code pursuant to Article 18 of the Executive Law of the State of New York, as the same may be amended from time to time, together with such rules and regulations as may be promulgated by the New York State Secretary of State pursuant thereto.
