As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
THROUGH TRAFFIC ROUTE
A way over certain streets and along which vehicles being operated within the Township of Marple must operate.
All vehicles operating within the Township of Marple shall be operated only over and along the through traffic routes herein established, except for the following which this article shall not prohibit.
A. 
The operation of vehicles upon any street where necessary to reach a destination point, provided that streets upon which such traffic is permitted are used until reaching the intersection nearest the destination point.
B. 
The operation of emergency vehicles upon any street in the Township of Marple.
C. 
The operation of vehicles owned or operated by the Township of Marple, public utilities, any contractor or material man while engaged in the repair, maintenance or construction of streets, street improvements or street utilities within the Township of Marple.
D. 
The operation of vehicles upon any officially established detour in any case where such vehicles could lawfully be operated upon the street for which such detour is established.
There is hereby established within the Township of Marple through traffic routes, consisting of all streets, except those designated below as other than through traffic routes.
All streets specifically designated below shall be deemed to be other than through traffic routes, and, on such streets, through traffic shall be prohibited, and the Chief of Police shall cause all such streets upon which through traffic is prohibited to be clearly posted with signs stating "No Through Traffic":
A. 
Langford Road from Winding Way to Sproul Road.
B. 
Springhouse Road from Langford Road to Lawrence Road.

C. 
Winding Way from Langford Road to New Ardmore Avenue.
D. 
On Langford Road at a point between Lawrence Road and Sproul Road being specifically located at a point 2,800 feet in a northeasterly direction from a point in the center line of Sproul Road.

E. 
On James Road and Bella Drive at Malin Road and Meadowbrook Lane and Laurel Lane at the Township line.

F. 
On Summit Avenue from West Chester Pike to North Sproul Road and on Derwyn Avenue from Church Lane to Summit Avenue.

On Fairview Road from Malin Road to West Chester Pike.

Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be guilty of a violation of this article, for which violation said person shall be liable to pay a fine of $2 for each offense, and each daily occurrence of the same offense shall be considered as a new offense and fineable as such and payable at the Police Department. If the fine is not paid within 48 hours from the time of issuance of a ticket advising the offender of the time, place and nature of the violation, legal proceedings shall be instituted; and, upon conviction by summary proceedings before any Justice of the Peace of the Township of Marple, the offender shall be subject to pay a fine or penalty of not less than $10 nor more than $300 for each and every offense, together with costs.
