From and after the passage of this chapter, it shall be unlawful for the owner, driver or occupant of any motorboat, launch or other powerboat to drive, operate or propel the same upon any lake or waters within the jurisdiction of the Village of Saugerties, without first providing such motorboat, launch or other powerboat with a device which shall effectively muffle and silence the sound of the exhaust and noise from the engine of the motor; and it shall also be unlawful for the owner, driver or occupant of any motorboat, launch or other powerboat to operate what is known as a "muffler cut-out" upon any such motorboat, launch or other powerboat while driven or propelled upon any lake or waters within the jurisdiction of the Village of Saugerties.
It shall be unlawful to drive, operate or propel any motorboat, launch or other powerboat upon any lake or waters within the jurisdiction of the Village of Saugerties at a rate of speed in excess of 10 miles per hour.
Any person or persons violating any provision of this chapter, shall, upon conviction thereof, furnish and pay a fine not exceeding $250 for each violation or be imprisoned in the County jail for not more than 15 days or both.
