It shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining the required license therefor, to conduct games of chance within the Village of Sylvan Beach, New York, subject to the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of the General Municipal Law, Article 9-A, and the provisions as set forth by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
The terms "authorized organization" and "games of chance" shall have the meanings given to them in § 186 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
The unauthorized conduct of a game of chance shall constitute and be punishable as a misdemeanor.
This chapter shall not become effective until it shall have been posted and published once in the official newspaper of the village and unless and until it shall have been approved by a majority of the electors of the Village of Sylvan Beach, New York, voting on a proposition submitted at the general election to be held within said village who are qualified to vote for officers of said village.
