It shall be unlawful for any person to tamper with, alter, or in any
way render ineffective any required fire-fighting equipment, fire protection
systems, fire detecting systems, fire alerting systems, fire communicating
systems or any device or unit designed for those purposes and are located
in public places or buildings, or public places to which the public is invited.
Anyone convicted of a violation of §
324-1 shall be a disorderly person and shall be subject to a sentence of imprisonment for a term not to exceed six months or a fine of not more than $500, or both, and be liable for restitution for damage to any and all of the devices above specified.
