All of the wards of the Borough of Steelton,
Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, should be and are hereby abolished,
and the governing body of the Borough of Steelton, Dauphin County,
Pennsylvania, shall be and is hereby changed and reduced from a ten-Councilman
Borough Council elected by wards to a seven-Councilman Borough Council
elected at large. The boundaries of wards and precincts shall be retained
for the purpose of voting election districts under the provision of
the Pennsylvania Election Code, Act of June 3, 1937, P.L. 1333, No.
320.
There shall be two Councilmen at Large elected
at the municipal election in the year 1975 for terms of four years
each; there shall be five Councilmen at Large elected at the municipal
election in the year 1977, two of said Councilmen to serve for terms
of two years each and three of said Councilmen to serve for terms
of four years each, to coincide with the number of Councilmen elected
at such election in existing boroughs under the provisions of the
Act of February 1, 1966, P.L. (1965) _____, No. 581, § 816
(53 P.S. § 45816). Biennially thereafter, at the municipal election, a sufficient
number of Councilmen shall be elected, for a term of four years from
the first Monday of January next succeeding, to fill the places of
those whose terms shall expire on the first Monday of January next
following such election. Ward Councilmen in office or elected to office
at the time of the enactment of this chapter shall remain in office
until the end of the term for which they were respectively elected
or appointed, subject only to removal or resignation as provided by
law.
The officers of the Borough of Steelton are
hereby authorized to take any and all actions, execute any and all
documents and do any and all things necessary to effectuate the purpose
of this chapter.

The regular meetings of the Borough Council
of the Borough of Steelton shall be held on the first and third Mondays
of every month (unless said Monday falls on a holiday, in which case
the meeting shall be held on the next succeeding business day) at
6:30 p.m., prevailing time, at the Borough Municipal Building, 123
North Front Street, Steelton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Both meetings
shall be meetings at which any and all business, consideration, action
or activity may occur. The Borough Council may hold such special meetings,
from time to time, for the consideration of special or any other business
or matters, as may from time to time be called by the President of
Council or upon written request of 1/3 of the members of Council.
