No person, firm or corporation without first having obtained a license therefor shall conduct in the Village of Athens any circus, menagerie, tent show, outdoor entertainment or any theatrical, musical entertainment or moving-picture performance or exhibition or any public entertainment, concert or exhibition of natural or artificial curiosities for which admission money is demanded or which is conducted for gain or profit; provided, however, that this section shall not apply to baseball or football games or field sports, nor to amateur concerts, performances or exhibitions given for benevolent purposes.
Fees for such entertainment licenses shall be as set from time to time by the Board of Trustees. Said fee schedule shall be administered by the Village Clerk.
Any person committing an offense against any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided in Article I, General Penalty, of Chapter 1, General Provisions, of the Code of the Village of Athens.
