Pursuant to Article 2-B, § 27, of the Executive Law of the State of New York, providing for state and local natural and man-made disaster preparedness and for the continuity of local government in connection therewith and specifically in the absence or incapacity of the Supervisor by reason of any such disaster, the Town of Wawayanda establishes the following line of succession:
A. 
Any reference to the "chief executive officer" shall be defined as the duly elected Supervisor of the Town.
B. 
In the absence or incapacity of the Supervisor, the duly designated Deputy Supervisor shall be deemed the chief executive officer.
C. 
In the absence or incapacity of both the Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor, then the member of the Town Board having the most seniority as an elected member of the Town Board shall temporarily assume the office of the chief executive officer of the Town until the return of the Supervisor or Deputy Supervisor. The seniority of the Town Board members shall be kept on file by the Town Clerk and shall be revised and updated annually within 30 days after the first Town Board meeting each year.
