Under the authority of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning
Code, 53 P.S. § 10201. there is hereby created in the Borough
of Ligonier a Planning Commission which shall be comprised of five
members appointed by the Borough Council and which Planning Commission
shall be the planning agency for the Borough. The engineer for the
Borough or an engineer appointed by the Borough Council shall serve
the Planning Commission as engineering advisor. The solicitor for
the Borough of Ligonier, or an attorney appointed by the Borough Council,
shall serve the Planning Commission as legal advisor.
The Council of the Borough of Ligonier hereby assigns to the
Planning Commission all the powers and duties conferred on planning
agencies by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.
The Borough Council may employ administrative and technical
services to aid in carrying out the provisions of this chapter either
as consultants on particular matters or as regular employees of the
municipality.
The Borough Council may accept and utilize any funds. personnel
or other assistance made available by the county, commonwealth or
the federal government, or any of their agencies, or from private
sources. The Council may enter into agreements or contracts regarding
the acceptance or utilization of the funds or assistance in accordance
with the governmental procedures of the municipality.
Whenever in the Zoning Ordinance of the Borough of Ligonier or any other law or ordinance of the Borough of Ligonier,
County of Westmoreland, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or the United
States of America, the term "Planning Committee" is used, it shall
from the date of this chapter be deemed to mean "Planning Commission."
