A. 
All new building and new construction activity, including but not limited to erection, excavation, or demolition of any building or property, which occurs in a residential or agricultural zoned area within the Township shall be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
B. 
Any existing building construction, remodeling, repair, building addition or the like within a residential or agricultural zoned area within the Township shall be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
Building and construction activity, or any activity related thereto, which takes place in an industrial or commercial zoned area shall be conducted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Additional work hours may be added upon the approval of the Board of Supervisors only, and said approval may include restrictions or conditions to assure that such hours of operation do not unreasonably disrupt the tranquility or integrity of the various neighborhoods in the Township or surrounding communities or that such is not adverse to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of South Strabane. Violation of any restriction or condition placed by the Board of Supervisors may cause the grant of additional hours to be revoked or modified.
At least 72 hours prior to the public meeting to be held by the Board of Supervisors to consider a request for additional hours, written notice of said meeting and request shall be sent by the Township, by first-class mail, to the addresses to which real estate tax bills are sent for all real property within 300 feet of the property line boundaries of the real property upon which such requested hours of work will take place.[1] Names and addresses shall be provided by the party submitting the request. Costs associated with mailing said notice shall be borne by the party making the request.

All construction or building activity within the Township must comply with the standards set forth in Chapter 148, Noise and Dust, of the Code of the Township of South Strabane, as well as any other applicable ordinance.
In the event of an emergency which affects the public health and safety, construction or building activity outside of the hours and days regulated above may occur, but, if possible, shall only occur after approval from the Township Zoning Officer or Township Code Enforcement Officer.
In addition to any available Township remedy, including but not limited to a cease and desist order, any person, firm, corporation, association or entity which violates the provisions of this article shall be subject to the penalties provided in § 1-2, Summary proceedings, of the Code of the Township of South Strabane.
